Italian Navy 1990s Raw Denim Trousers

Navy working trousers cut in raw indigo denim — an unusual thing to find in a military store, where cotton drill is the rule and denim is civilian. The Italian Navy issued them for work aboard.

The cut is plain and high: five pockets, a button fly, belt loops, and no pattern or insignia anywhere on them. Unwashed and unsanforised, so they carry the stiffness and the depth of colour that raw denim has before it is worn.
