German Army 1990s Flecktarn Camouflage Combat Parka
GA1990FCCP
The German Army Flecktarn parka was issued through the 1990s, this one dated 1997, in a soft 80% cotton 20% polyester blend.
It features four popper button pockets across the torso, a sleeve pocket and an internal pocket, a zip and popper button closure, drawstrings at the waist, cuffs, hood and hem, and zipped vents under the arms. Flecktarn is the five colour spot pattern the Bundeswehr adopted as standard issue in 1991 after two decades of trials, and it works by dissolving its own outline at distance rather than by drawing shapes — the reason so many other armies took a version of it afterwards.
Measured flat, it runs 46" along the chest and fits a regular medium figure — the label reads Gr. 2, a chest of 95 to 100cm — with a sleeve length of 25" and a collar to hem of 35 inches.
