The West German Army thermal liner is a 1970s pattern, this example dated 1998.

It features a zipper closure, one chest pocket and knit elasticated collar and cuffs, cut in a 55% polyamide 45% polyester blend in khaki olive. A button in design made for German coats, which is where it belongs, though it wears perfectly well on its own.

Measured flat, it runs 24" pit to pit and fits a regular large figure — the label suggests 105 to 110cm, Gr 18, and a height of 195 to 205cm — with sleeve lengths of 25.5" and a collar to hem of 33.5 inches.
