West German Army 1980s Olive Drab Parka With Thermal Liner
WGA1980ODPWTL
The West German Army cold weather parka was issued to the Heer through the 1980s, this one dated 1982, in a durable cotton canvas.
It features five flap button pockets — two at the waist, two at the chest and one inside — a button and zip closure, drawstrings at the waistline and hem, adjustable wrist cuffs, a drawstring hood and shoulder epaulettes, with a detachable full length synthetic fur liner buttoned into the shell. Windproof and water resistant, in the classic olive drab. The liner is the whole point of it: the shell alone is a three season coat, and with the fur in it the thing is built for a German winter on exercise.
Measured flat, it runs 23" from pit to pit and fits a regular medium figure — the label reads Gr 5, a chest of 90 to 95cm — with a sleeve length of 24" and a collar to hem of 32 inches.
