French Army 1990s Aerazur EFA Parachute Deployment Bag
FRA1990AEPDB
The bag a canopy comes out of, made by Aerazur — the French firm that has supplied parachutes, liferafts and aircrew survival equipment since the 1930s, and whose blue label is the one thing on this bag that is not olive.
It is built the way things that are used once per jump and then packed again are built: heavy olive canvas, a webbing carry strap run the full height of the bag and anchored through a keeper stitched across the middle, and a flat patch pocket on the front. The stitching is deliberately not hidden — contrasting thread through every seam and bar tack, so a rigger inspecting it can see the condition of the stitch itself rather than take it on trust.
