The United States Navy light blue service shirt was worn through the Cold War, in a 50% cotton 50% polyester blend.

It features two chest pockets, a button closure and adjustable button cuffs, cut long in the body in light blue. This one is stamped NavShirt and named ANDERSON, and carries a Petty Officer First Class rank on the sleeve — the rate a sailor reaches after ten or twelve years in, which is to say the shirt belonged to somebody who had made the Navy a career.

Measured flat, it runs 50" along the chest and fits a regular extra large figure — the label states XL — with a sleeve length of 25" and a collar to hem of 30 inches.
