British Army 2010s MTP Camouflage Waterproof OAV MVP Smock
BA2010MCWOMS
The British Army's waterproof layer in MTP, issued from 2011 and still standard. MVP is the moisture-vapour-permeable membrane the fabric is built around, in a durable polyamide — the thing that makes a waterproof worth keeping on through a day's work rather than only through the rain.
It pulls on over the head; a quarter zip at the chest and a button neck are the whole of the closure. Adjustable zipper vents run down both sides, the cuffs are elasticated and the waist draws in on a cord. It is cut to go over everything else rather than to be worn against anything, which is what an over smock is for, and it is windproof as well as waterproof.
Measured flat, it runs 24" pit to pit and is issued as one size, with a 24" sleeve and a collar to hem of 47 inches — the label suggests a wearer of around 180cm.
